sowing the seeds of 2015

We just passed the midpoint between winter solstice and spring equinox, and I celebrated today by sowing some onions and leeks. I seem to have won the prize this year for first greenhouse user at Headwaters, but Rowan gamely fired up the germination chamber for me. Hopefully I'll have some company soon!
seed selection: some of my favorite seed companies
onion seeds are tiny and almost impossible to see against the soil
onions and leeks are sown into open flats to save space; each flat will eventually hold 320-400 plants
tools of the trade
the diet scale I bought didn't work out as I'd hoped, so I had to count out each individual seed
